Lucknow Gates

These impressive gates are replicas of the gates to the city of Lucknow in India. They were formerly the main gates to Glendaruel House, however the house was destroyed by fire in the 1970s. The gates are thought to have been built to commemorate the military exploits of former resident Sir Colin Campbell, who led the relief of Lucknow during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
